Welcome Aboard!

Welcome to the Grand Central Railroad Park, one of the largest outdoor model railroads in the Phoenix area. We are located at The Grand in Surprise Arizona.

We are a designated Interest Group in The Grand. Our model railroad group began in 2004 with ten members. The Grand Community Association provided the space for the train layout and those original members laid the first few hundred feet of track. Now we have 40 members and the layout has developed to include approximately 1800 feet of track, landscaping, bridges and many buildings.

Congratulations to Susan Adams, the winner of the 2025 Thomas the Train Raffle at the Day-after Christmas Night Run. Susan will be giving it to her grandson.
Her husband worked in the Union Pacific Railroad marketing department for 39 years.

Presentation was made by John Soine, a longtime member of the Grand Central Railroad.


The GCRR is a “hands on” outdoor model railroading experience. Residents of The Grand are invited to join and participate in working with and operating “G (garden) Gauge” model trains. Beginning and experienced railroaders are welcome (owning a train set is not required to become a member). We invite you to continue your "tour" of this website or for more information...
